Lancaster, SC – Simpson Electric (www.simpsonelectricnc.com) and the Lancaster County Department of Economic Development (LCDED) announced that Simpson Electric has selected Indian Land for its new corporate office and operation center. Simpson Electric, a long standing family owned business founded in Charlotte, is the largest residential electrical contractor in the region. The company provides electrical wiring services for a variety of residential customers including custom builders to large national home builders. The company will relocate its Charlotte office and operations currently in leased space on Crump Road to a 10,000 square foot facility they will construct and own at Perimeter 521 Business Park on Northfield Drive just off U.S. 521. The new facility will employ over 100 associates.
Danny Simpson, President of Simpson Electric, says the new facility and move to Lancaster County will be advantageous in several ways, “We are always looking for good employees and Lancaster County offers us a chance at an expanded labor pool and with the perks Simpson Electric offers such as medical insurance, 401 K, paid vacation and holidays, and bonuses, I think this move will be financially beneficial to the county and us. Jamie Gilbert and the Lancaster County Department of Economic Development worked hard to show us how the move would be a win-win for all and I want to thank them for that. Simpson Electric is a family owned business started by my dad, Vernon Simpson, in 1954. I have two sons, Matt and Clay, working in the business and it meant a lot to us that Lancaster County wanted our business there and made us feel welcome. That really made a difference and our decision to relocate much easier.”
Lancaster County Department of Economic Development (LCDED) Director Jamie Gilbert said, “When we learned of Simpson Electric’s interest in Lancaster County we made sure we did everything we could to make our location work for them. Simpson Electric is one of the most respected contractors in the Carolinas and their reputation is stellar. They’ve been in business for sixty-three years, an amazing length of time, and they will be an excellent addition to our business community. LCDED strongly believes that skilled trade jobs offer some of the best employment opportunities for our workforce and young people, so we are very excited to have a company the caliber of Simpson Electric locate here. ” LCDED assisted Simpson Electric with development issues and local incentives.
Simpson Electric is the fourth project announced in Lancaster County this year with those projects representing 1,162 new jobs and over $24,300,000 in new investment. “As a home builder I’m very familiar with Simpson Electric. They are an outstanding company and I couldn’t be happier that they have chosen to call Lancaster County home. Their move is another indication that our business climate and economic development team attracts some of best businesses from across the Carolinas and U.S.”, said Steve Harper, Lancaster County Council Chairman.
